Miami Beach’s Development Has Its Place In United States History

Miami Beach has established itself as one the most popular areas in Florida, and the United States. Development of this famous city began in the early 1900′s. The first large growth resulted after the Lummus Brothers acquired 400 acres of land. Next, they developed the Ocean Beach Realty Company. The following year a man named Carl Fisher arrived in the area. He also had a vision and he acquired land which linked him with the Lummus project. He constructed the Collins Bridge. This bridge was important because it connected Miami and Miami Beach.

The following year, 1914, the first hotel, the W.J. Brown Hotel, opened in Miami Beach. This also brought about the opening of Collins Avenue which was the first paved road accommodating automobiles. The immediate future brought about a number of changes, many of them resulting from the work of the Lummus Brothers and Collins. One of these was the Lummus Brothers offer of free lots to any person who promised to build

Did Matthew Stafford Deserve To Be The #1 Overall Pick in the 2009 NFL Draft?

Well, the Lions fans tried to get the organization to draft Aaron Curry by chanting his name at the unveiling of the lions new logo earlier this week, but it wasn’t enough to change their minds. Matthew Stafford was signed by the Detroit Lions yesterday for a six-year contract that could include up to million and .7 guaranteed money.

I wanted to post my thoughts about the scenario since I am a Lions fan and quite knowledgable about the situation. Personally, I think Curry would have been a much better pick because of his obvious talent but also because of his leadership skills and the amount of money he was willing to sign for. They had a historically bad defense last year, and finding somebody like Curry that could fly around the field and make tackles everywhere like he has shown the ability to do, would be very valuable. They have a huge whole in the middle of their defense that he could have filled and would have also provided some much needed

2008 – 2009 Baltimore Ravens season

The Baltimore Ravens are a professional American football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. They compete in the AFC North Division of the American Football Conference in the National Football League. The team that players all wear Baltimore Raven jerseys is a brave team. I will tell you something about 2008 – 2009 Baltimore Ravens season.

With rookies at head coach John Harbaugh and quarterback, the Ravens entered the 2008 campaign with lots of uncertainty. After a season-opening home victory over the Bengals, their Week 2 match at the Houston Texans was postponed until two months later because of Hurricane Ike, forcing the Ravens to play for what would eventually be eighteen straight weeks. Its record would drop to 2-3 after three straight losses – in overtime at Pittsburgh, a home heartbreaker versus Tennessee and a blowout in Indianapolis. A win at Miami, redemption for what happened late in the previous season, sparked a

Warning:Free Expert Picks Could Be Losing You Money

Sun 11 weeks in the NFL is finally upon us and it seems that the usual suspects of the team playing well at this time of year. Teams like the Colts still undefeated district look like sure winners. However there are teams that were selected by experts to win games and lost this week, which brings me my way to the so-called  free-expert.
Well, as I see whether this choice are experts at all reliable, then there would be no need for professional bettors handicap.
NFL Odds some decisions this week could be a disaster for you if you follow what some experts called news. Just watch the game in Miami-Carolina this week, a great sports site had seven experts to win the Caroline, while only three went to Miami. Of course, the Dolphins’ offense is not enough, this year, but thanks to its racing game could get a victory.
If your money into the team of experts, replica nfl jerseyswithout you lost your shirt. While advertisers and critics you may have the first

Winning at Nfl Football

Best Sports Gambling Site Reviews and Top Sportsbooks have analyzed many years of statistics of NFL football and have seen some reoccurrences that winning NFL football teams have in common. There is an old misconception among fans that a great defense is needed to win at NFL football. The problem with that philosophy is that your highly talented defensive teams would be worn out due to being on the field too long. Also, a few key injuries to a few skilled players can mean the difference between last and first.

On the offensive side, there are many football fans that do not draw the distinction between what is a great offense and what is a high powered one.

Great offenses are ones that consistently get the 15-25 play eight-minute scoring drive and can also beat you with a 50-yard bomb. Great offenses keep the other teams defenses off the field time wise. One of the great offenses of modern day is the 1972 Miami Dolphins. Their

Predicting the Playoffs for 2006

Now that the draft, free agency and the first set of minicamps have come and gone, teams are close to being set in terms of personnel. The schedule is in place for every team, and this time of year presents the first somewhat realistic opportunity to look ahead. Of course, there could still be player movement, and injuries are always a monkey wrench in terms of gauging which teams are poised for a big year. With all that being said, it’s time for the first set of fearless predictions for the 2006 season, including who will make the playoffs.

AFC East Top Two Finishers: New England and Miami
The Patriots, for the first time in two years, are looking to recapture the title they lost last season. Any team with the combination of Bill Bellichek and Tom Brady has a chance to win it all, and with the Bills and Jets at least a year away, the Pats will win the division. The Dolphins have uncertainty at QB, but also have a “star” coach in Nick Saban and talent

NFL Power Rankings Week 14 – New Orleans Saints Remain on The Top

NFL Power Rankings Week 14 – Top 32 NFL Football Teams

All Saints Day came this past Sunday for Who Dat? nation. New Orleans pulled off an unimaginable comeback win and remain the NFL’s cream of the crop. For the ninth straight week the Saints own the No. 1 spot and the Colts are No. 2 in WEEI’s NFL Power Rankings. The teams in this week’s Top 5 stay the same — however the Chargers jumped ahead of the Bengals one spot after their seventh-straight win.

The Patriots dropped to their lowest spot all year after another poor second-half performance against the Dolphins. Tom Brady and crew sit at No. 12 and hope to bounce back at home Sunday against a poor Carolina team. The Patriots have been terrible on the road, and with that loss to Miami they’ve all but eliminated themselves from getting a first-round bye.

As for some other notables, the Super Bowl XLIII champion Pittsburgh Steelers plummet two more spots and now are looking up from No.

Despite Media Reports, Vince Young’s Wonderlic Score Still Unknown

As usual, the mainstream media blows another non-story from the world of sports WAY out of proportion- even worse, the news over the weekend about Texas quarterback Vince Young’s Wonderlic score is likely inaccurate to boot.

Young, who is currently in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine, was reported to have scored a woeful 6 on the 50 question test that has been used by NFL executives as a scouting tool to measure a draft prospect’s intelligence.

A spokesman for the NFL has stated that scores do not come out until a week after the combine, so as of now these reports are not only pure speculation on the part of the media, but also border on slanderous if we find out a week from now that he actually scored higher.

According to more reliable sources, Young actually scored a 16, which doesn’t exactly make him a genius, but is simply below average compared to 2005 draft hopefuls. I’m sure if this is the case, the major
